You don’t have to see something to see and feel its effects. In dentistry, there is a (somewhat) invisible force that can work for good. For decades, Invisalign® clear aligners have been helping patients across the United States improve their smiles.
This service has become so popular in part because it’s such a discreet way to have straight teeth. In fact, many of our adult patients in Boynton Beach, FL are willing to get orthodontic treatment for that very reason.
Call (561) 877-3802 today if you want straighter teeth and a nicer smile. Schedule a consultation with our dentist, Dr. Hugh B. Rosenblatt. Find out if you are a good candidate for this conservative treatment option.
According to the American Association of Orthodontists, more and more adults are seeking treatment. According to the most recent data, roughly 1 in every 5 orthodontic patients is an adult.
Some of these adults are wearing braces. Yet, many adults would like to straighten their teeth but are unwilling to spending two years or so wearing metal brackets on their teeth.
Braces are incredibly effective, but many adults do not want to call attention to the fact that they are receiving orthodontic care. This could be for personal reasons, professional reasons, or both.
Some adults would not feel comfortable showing up for a date, a party with friends, or business meetings with new clients.
You also may not want to deal with the necessary hassles that come with wearing braces. You’ll need to avoid eating certain foods to avoid accidentally causing brackets to come loose or bending wires.
Some people also find that the brackets themselves irritate the soft tissues inside their mouths.
As great as braces work, we can understand why many adults are not interested in wearing them. Many working professionals just don’t think the disruption to their daily lives is worth the final results they will get if they do get braces.
You will need to make some changes with any kind of orthodontic care, but Invisalign has much less of an impact on your daily activities than braces would.
The biggest benefit of wearing clear aligners is that most people won’t realize you are wearing them — unless you decide to tell them yourself. Indeed, many of our previous Invisalign patients have told us they were surprised by how few people ever mentioned their aligners.
As a result, you can feel comfortable going on a date, to a party, or to a business meeting when you are wearing Invisalign.
And unlike with braces, you can keep eating anything you would like. (As dental professionals, we must add that you should try to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet without too much sugar, but that’s true all the time.)
Why is that? It’s because you should take out your aligners before you eat. When you are finished, you should clean your teeth and your aligner before putting it back in your mouth. It’s really that simple.
Now, you should wear your aligners 20 to 22 hours each day in order to get the maximum benefit from them. You’ll wear each of your aligners for a few weeks before switching to the next one in the sequence.
You may feel some gentle pressure for a day or so after you put in a new aligner, but that’s how you know it’s keeping your teeth moving in the right directions.
People who wore braces as children then got Invisalign as adults have also stressed to us how much more comfortable the aligners are. Each aligner is made of smooth plastic. There aren’t any brackets to scratch the inside of your mouth, and there isn’t a wire that could break and poke you in the lips, cheeks, or gums.
How long have you wanted to close that gap in your smile? Straighten your crooked teeth? Fix your overbite?
If you’ve been dreaming of a straighter smile for years, then you know nothing will change unless you do something about it. Dr. Rosenblatt can help. He wants to help, and he could do that with Invisalign.
