The holiday season is here. Over the next few months, we hope you enjoy Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day with your family and friends.
We hope those occasions will be filled with laughter and lots of smiles.
We also know that in the age of cell phone cameras and social media, there will be lots of pictures. That can be fun … or it could be something you are dreading if you aren’t happy with your smile.
Fortunately, you can do something about your teeth if you don’t think they look as nice as you would like. Cosmetic dentistry is a big part of what we do at the office of Hugh B. Rosenblatt, DMD.
Please call (561) 877-3802 if you are ready to make a change to your smile. A consultation at our Boynton Beach, FL dentist office can give you options for improving your smile.
A few years ago, USA Today conducted a survey of young, single adults in the United States. They wanted to find out what traits they looked for in a potential romantic partner.
The number one thing mentioned by both men and women was nice teeth.
A nice smile isn’t only important for romantic reasons. Kelton Global conducted a separate survey to gauge how people feel about smiles. They found that smiles are considered someone’s most memorable feature by half of the respondents. That was twice as many people who considered what a person said to be the most memorable thing about their first impression.
Plus, having an attractive smile can help you in other ways. People with nice smiles are often considered friendly, more intelligent, and more trustworthy, too.
This may or may not be a fair impression, but it can make a difference in many situations.
A nice smile can help you in a job interview. It also can help you when talking to a potential client or customer.
And yes, it may help when you want to talk to someone you are interested in romantically as well.
Your smile does affect how you are perceived by other people. But it also affects your self-perception.
We don’t need a survey to know this. It’s something we observe daily in our office.
Patients who like their teeth are much more likely to smile when they speak to us during their visits. Patients who are unhappy with the condition of their teeth — no matter the reason — often feel the need to hide their smiles or their teeth.
Some will even go so far as to hold a hand over their mouths while they are talking to us. We don’t want anyone to feel that way.
We have also noticed something else. When patients see their new smiles after a cosmetic procedure, they smile more easily and more often.
That makes us feel good, and it seems to make those patients feel better about themselves, too.
As part of our cosmetic dentistry, we offer a variety of services at our Boynton Beach, FL office. No matter what you would like to change about your smile, there is good chance that we offer a service that could help.
Teeth whitening may be the most popular service that we offer. Our professional teeth whitening can remove stains that have taken years or even decades to develop. Our KöR and Opalescence professional whitening systems are both more effective than anything you will find in stores.
Invisalign® is another popular option for adults and teenagers who would like straighter teeth. This is an orthodontic treatment that uses a series of aligners to gently push your teeth into new position. The aligners are clear, which make them practically invisible when placed over your teeth.
Tooth bonding is a great way to repair teeth that have small chips and cracks in them.
Or dental veneers can be used to rebuild broken and worn down teeth. Veneers also can be used to hide crooked teeth, close gaps between teeth, or make your smile look as white as you want it to be.
As you are getting gifts for the people you love this year, don’t forget yourself. Take time to schedule a consultation with Dr. Rosenblatt to learn how you can make your smile even better.
