The holiday season is in full swing and this time of year is a great time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. For many, the holidays are a break from work and the mundane of our daily routines. Most get a few days off, and some get a week or more off from work to enjoy the season. However, even with time away from the daily grind, many find it hard to squeeze in all the extras during this extremely busy holiday time. For many, the holidays are jam packed with holiday parties with friends, family, and even work gatherings. The extra time from work is also filled with shopping, cooking, wrapping presents and other holiday festivities.

The fun filled holiday season leaves most with little time to reflect on this year’s accomplishments or achievements. This is helpful to reflect on what was good and what we liked, and how we want the new year to play out. The new year is just around the corner and the end of 2019 is a great time to sit down and set some goals for 2020. Putting goals down in writing is a vital part to goal setting. It is also very important to constantly read and review goals to keep them top of mind.

Studies show that those who put their goals in writing are more than 50% more likely to accomplish their goals. This is due to the constant reminder of the goal and what is important. Most have heard the saying “repetition is the mother of all learning”. This saying definitely applies to goal setting and achieving those goals.

Having goals in writing also helps due to the visualization of those goals. Most people learn and remember by looking at something or reading.

So with the holiday season wrapping up very shortly, we hope you take the time to reflect on your 2019 and set some goals for 2020.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to everyone from Dr. Hugh B. Rosenblatt and staff.
